Originally built on the outskirts of Lynchburg, VA in 1957 as a 1/4 mile dragstrip, airport operations were added in 1961 and the facility has served a dual-purpose since. Having been and remaining under the continued guidance of Rucker Tibbs, the airport was purchased by the Kevin and Martha Murray in December 2005. Kevin and Martha also run Sky Dynamics Corporation which specializes in competition intake and exhaust systems for aerobatic planes. We hope to continue the friendly, laid-back atmosphere that exists and prepare to guide the facility far into the future.
